The Advent Prose (Rorate Caeli) is commonly sung to plainsong in churches during the season of Advent. It was arranged into a hymn in the seventeenth century. The words are a series of texts adapted from the book of the prophet Isaiah and combine the traditional text used in the liturgy with other scriptural passages. The refrain ‘Drop down, ye heavens from above’ is taken from Isaiah 45:8.
Sung by Richard Bannan

Parish Finances. The pandemic is touching us all in different ways and although we continue to strive to be at the heart of our community, we are also being affected by this unprecedented situation. We are no longer receiving income from the hire of the Goose Green Centre nor are we receiving offerings in the collection plate on a Sunday. We have tried to reduce our costs as much as possible but just reducing our costs will not be enough to cover our outgoings. We understand that for many these are uncertain times financially but if you feel you can support us by making a donation, no matter how small, we would be extremely grateful. Please visit our Giving page here.
