SERVICES

The Eucharist is at the centre of our worshipping life together here at St John’s. We meet together every Sunday to pray together, share communion and be sent out again to love and serve our neighbours. We would love you to join us and share in our worship in whatever way you can.

Our main service is our Sung Mass at 10am on Sundays. Worship at this service is enhanced by our robed choir. We hold a simpler Said Mass at 8am on Sundays which uses traditional language.  You are welcome to wear a face covering at either service if that is your preference.

The 10am service is live streamed on Zoom and on Youtube. Please do join our mailing list to receive our weekly email and links to our online services, do contact us if you have any questions or would like to find out more.

Weekly Services

Each Sunday, there is a simple traditional language Said Mass at 8am and a Sung Mass at 10am. Please see our Weekly Notices page for further information.

Our 10 am Sung Mass is live streamed via Zoom. In addition, during the week we also celebrate Morning Prayer on Zoom on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9am. Please sign up to our mailing list for the sign in details for all our online services.

First Communion and Confirmation

At St John’s we regularly prepare children aged seven and over to be admitted to Holy Communion, with their parent or carer’s agreement. Secondary school-aged children and adults are also welcome to be prepared for Confirmation. Both of these involve a short course of preparation classes. Please speak to a member of the clergy if you would like to explore First Communion or Confirmation.

Messy Church

Join us at our all-age Messy Church Services which take place once a month on a Sunday afternoon. Messy Church services are based on creativity, hospitality and celebration, and are held in churches all across the world. In a relaxed and welcoming environment, we enjoy crafts, stories, music, science activities and share refreshments, and are reminded of the unconditional love of God. We welcome everyone of all ages. Just turn up!
