Lent and Easter

In addition to our usual Sunday services, join us for our special events during Lent and Easter:
 
Wednesday 14 February, Ash Wednesday Sung Eucharist: 8pm, we mark the beginning of Lent with this Sung Eucharist, with imposition of ashes
Sunday 3 March, Choral Evensong: 6pm a service of beautiful music and prayer
Sunday 10 March, Mothering Sunday: Sung Eucharist, 10am celebrate with us!
Sunday 17 March: 10am service – we look forward to welcoming guest preacher, Revd Guy Hewitt, Racial Justice Director at the Church of England
Sunday 24 March, Sung Eucharist for Palm Sunday: we mark the last week of Jesus’ life with this special service with procession, and dramatic retelling of the story of Holy Week
 
Holy Week:
Monday 25 March, Retreat at Bethany service, with Said Eucharist, 7.30pm
Tuesday 26 and Wednesday 27 March, Stations of the Cross at 7.30pm, Said Eucharist at 8pm
 
The Easter Triduum: 
These services mark the three days from the Last Supper and arrest of Jesus, to the celebration of the resurrection on Easter Sunday. Join us as we journey from death to life, from despair to hope.
 
Thursday 28 March, Maundy Thursday: 8pm Sung Eucharist. we remember the Last Supper and the arrest of Jesus, with footwashing, stripping of the altars, and (optional) keeping a vigil of prayer until 10pm
Friday 29 March, Good Friday: Children’s Worship at 10am, we retell the story of Easter in an age-appropriate way
Meditation on the Passion: 12noon: we hold a reflective service to enter into the meaning of Good Friday
The Passion Service: 1.45-3pm, we mark the crucifixion of Jesus with this choral retelling of the passion of Christ
 
Sunday 31 March, Easter Day: 
Dawn Service, 6am: we bring the first light of Easter into church in this special celebration of the resurrection, followed by simple breakfast
Festival Eucharist: 10am, Join us for this sung service to celebrate Easter, followed by Easter Egg Hunt!
