The interment of ashes of the late Dennis Cooper will take place immediately after the 10am Mass this Sunday morning.
COVID-19 measures at St John’s. We are continuing with our Covid prevention measures at St John’s. This means that we will recommend and expect people to wear a face-covering, use hand sanitiser and maintain social distancing. We are the body of Christ, and we are mindful of those who are more vulnerable or anxious at this time. We will resume singing in due course, and will take one step at a time. Hearing Loop System. The hearing loop system is now mended after it has been out of action for some time. Apologies to anyone who has been affected by this.
Thursday Mass. There will not be a Thursday lunchtime Mass during August – this service will resume on Thursday 2 September.
Thank you to everyone at St John’s who contributed during Christian Aid Week. We raised a total of £624.09.
Messy Church. Our first Messy Church service on Sunday afternoon was a great success – thank you to all who joined in and supported this new venture. Please put the dates of our next Messy Church services in your diaries: Sunday 12 September, 10 October, 14 November, 12 December, all at 4pm. Get in touch if you would like to help. Psalms, Psinging and Psandwiches! St John’s will be hosting a workshop day on the singing of psalms on 2 October. This will be a really interesting day studying psalms and the variety of ways they can be sung.
