Organ Recital. As well as our own Organ Recital Series here at St John’s, we have a recital by John Webber on Friday, 23 July at 12.30pm at St Stephen Walbrook, near Cannon Street Station.  There will be music by J. S. Bach, Florence Price, Stanford, Rheinberger, Alfred Hollins and others.  One hour of music.  Admission free; retiring collection.  All welcome.

Psalms, Psinging and Psandwiches! St John’s will be hosting a workshop day on the singing of psalms on 2 October. This will be a really interesting day studying psalms and the variety of ways they can be sung. We hope members of the congregation may like to come to this event and it would also be helpful to have some volunteers to help with welcoming participants, serving refreshments, etc. Please contact John Webber maggieandjohn1@googlemail.com or Sue O’Neill sue.oneill@virgin.net if you would like to know more.

Choir. We are all hoping that, before too long, the Choir will be permitted to sing in larger numbers.  New members to the Adult Choir will be welcome; it is necessary to be able to read music.  It would be good to have two or three more tenors and sopranos.  Please let John know if you are interested and ask for more information.

Are you interested in becoming a school governor? St John’s and St Clement’s Primary School are looking for a new foundation governor to join the team. Please speak to Revd. Gill if you would like to find out more about this important role.

Safeguarding. At St John’s we are committed to ensuring that our church is a safe place for everyone, and especially for children and vulnerable adults. If you have any safeguarding concerns, please speak to a member of our Safeguarding Team: Mary Dawson, Tina Hampson, Joy Taylor, Revd Gill O’Neill, wardens Julie Whitney and Jim Nurton, or email via office@stjohnseastdulwich.org. Alternatively, contact the Interim Diocesan Safeguarding Adviser: Moira Murray, moira.murray@southwark.anglican.org, 020 7939 9423, 07982 279 713. Out of office hours, call 020 3874 6743. If you have urgent concerns about the safety of a child or vulnerable adult, please contact the police.
