Booking the Centre

Welcome to the Goose Green Centre. The Centre is an integral part of the Church of England parish of St. John the Evangelist, East Dulwich, and is attached to the church building. The Centre overlooks Goose Green and is a few minutes’ walk from Lordship Lane, the busy hub of East Dulwich. We opened in 1996 to serve the local community of SE22 and SE15 and we are situated on the corner of East Dulwich Road and Adys Road.

We provide a light, airy, warm, welcoming and safe venue for a whole range of activities including children’s parties. This is a great venue for regular meetings or activities or for one-off events and is suitable as a workshop or day-conference venue.

The events which run regularly at the Centre include groups for babies, toddlers, young people, and children’s tuition groups. There are exercise, social and support groups for adults as well as a weekly lunch club for the over 55s. At present we have limited vacancies throughout the week.

The Centre is used by both commercial and community groups and there are special rates for all community groups using the Centre. The rates of hire can be found on the website and it is possible to hire various combinations of our facilities.

We offer a choice of flexible accommodation within the Centre. The large and small halls (which can be combined) hold roughly 100 and 50 respectively. There are plenty of chairs and tables and some children’s furniture too. The Centre includes a fully equipped kitchen which includes an urn for hot drinks, large oven, twin sinks, dishwasher etc. There is step-free access and facilities as well as baby-changing facilities. For your security and safety there is also separate entry phone access to both halls. Given our proximity to residential properties the Centre does not hold a licence for amplified music, though a piano is available and, regrettably, we cannot accept bookings for events which finish after 9.30pm.”

We welcome all enquiries and these should be directed to our Centre Manager, Gareth Mills, on 020 8299 6483 and email: If you wish to speak to Gareth personally you are welcome to drop in and he is usually to be found there between 6.00 p.m. and 7.00 p.m. on Mondays.

We welcome enquiries from all groups, businesses, organisations and charities who share our commitment to equality and inclusion, regardless of creed, gender, disability, racial background or sexuality.
