Woolwich MEACC Pilgrimage to Lichfield Cathedral – 10 June 2017

Following our highly successful pilgrimage to Canterbury Cathedral in 2016, this year we are going to visit another of our great English cathedrals, where we will be welcomed by our former Bishop, The Rt Revd Michael Ipgrave, now Bishop of Lichfield.
Lichfield Cathedral has long been a place of pilgrimage through its association with St Chad, the first Bishop of Lichfield. As well as his tomb chest, the Cathedral also holds the St Chad Gospels which are believed to be almost as old as the Lindesfarne ones.  You will also see among the treasures the Lichfield Angel, a sculpture which dates back to the 8th century.
As well as a tour of the Cathedral, our day will include a Eucharist and Evensong and then a chance to explore the historic city of Lichfield.
Our pilgrimage will begin and end at St George the Martyr in Borough High Street in Southwark. Travel will be by excecutive coach. The journey will last about 3 hours each way.
To secure your place please contact Joy Taylor by 31st March 2017.
Spaces are limited to 10 seats per church @ £10 per seat
We hope you can make it.
